WAYS YOU CAN MAKE THE REVOLUTION
You're invited to help create a society that prioritizes equity, sustainability, integrity and community. In a time when the demands for justice and environmental care grow increasingly urgent, your voice and actions are vital. This is not merely about making a statement; about making a genuine impact.
The obstacles we encounter are many and interconnected, ranging from systemic inequality to the climate crisis. Yet, each challenge also brings an opportunity to reshape our societies into models of compassion and resilience. The Grassroots Evolution represents more than just a movement; it's a beacon of hope and a call to action. By choosing to act, you are not just advocating for change but also committing to a path of personal and collective growth.
Below, you will discover various ways to engage, influence, and contribute to a revolution that will redefine our coexistence on this planet. Whether it's voting, educating yourself and others, or community initiatives, every action makes a difference. Together, we can create a where justice prevails, our environment is cherished, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Your journey begins here—let's explore how you can be an integral part of this transformative movement.
-
Wake Up and Get Educated. Learn all you can about the systems that rule our lives. Take the power back from those who bombard us with their overt and covert agendas, trying to dominate us with fear, and lull us back to sleep. Do not let them control your mind or overwhelm your senses so that you don't know where to turn or what to do. As great teachers will tell you: we all matter, we are all important to this world, and every life is worth saving. Stand up for your own truth and for the voices of others to be heard. Get knowledgeable about how you can help make things better.
-
Get Organized. Meet and build connections in your local community. Know who the helpers are and help them. Get creative, get informed about what is working in other places, and replicate their successes. Volunteer Creatively. Consider lending your skills to a wide range of needs—from teaching literacy classes, assisting in local shelters, to environmental cleanups. Every bit of effort helps to alleviate suffering and improve our world.

Vote wisely! Vote for the most progressive candidate or party you can find. Don’t allow “strategic voting” to move you away from what you believe in. Focus on parties that champion workers, support unions, believe in fair living wages, and are committed to eradicating poverty through progressive taxation policies. These are the candidates who understand human rights, equity, tolerance, and inclusion. Avoid the distractions of artificial 'blue team vs. red team' politics. These do not help us in finding solutions. Look for those who champion innovative solutions, and become a champion for them. Get involved, donate money or time as a volunteer, and let your friends and neighbours know why you’ve chosen the candidate you support. Run for Elected Office. Find the most progressive political party in your region that wants to help the working class, not enrich the 1%. Put your time and talents to work for a campaign. Knock on doors, organize events, make phone calls. Get politicians in office who will make the radical changes this world desperately needs.
-
Join marches, protests, and demonstrations. Large, peaceful demonstrations with targeted messaging and clear objectives are very effective at drawing attention to important issues. It shows that a lot of people care enough to get up to do something about injustice. Join up with the causes you believe in. Remain peaceful and non-violent. Do not allow violence to break into your peaceful demonstration. If they begin to attack, lay down on the ground. Remain committed to peace (hint: peace is one of the main things we should be marching for).
-
Communicate with Government Officials. Personally written letters expressing your concerns are required to be read by lawmakers. Now, more than ever, phone calls, emails, and personal visits by appointment also matter. Lobbying can be done by individuals, not just big businesses. Gather your thoughts around the issues and let the government know you care about how these issues unfold. Petition the Government. Online petitions are more common now, but are they being used to good effect? Signing your name to something, even if it isn't perfectly worded, can help show support for issues worth fighting for. We need to encourage governments to figure out a way to allow e-signed petitions to count as legislatively valid. If we can bank and do our taxes online, then we should be able to exercise democracy online as well.
-
Give Generously. Give when you have excess. Giving to charities which are directly improving the lives of those in need is one of the best ways to start. Give to local organizations and give to ones that are helping in other parts of the world. Give your neighbor a hand working around his or her house or yard. Give a mother help cleaning up, cooking a meal, folding the laundry, or doing the chores. Give your children the gifts of your time and attention. And even if you feel you have nothing to give, remember that even a voice crying out for justice or speaking up for someone or something is a valuable gift. Giving saves lives, brings people back from the brink just when they think they are alone in this world... and somebody out there cares enough to give. It shows that people want to improve the lives of others, with no expectation of reward. If you have resources, skills, time, or knowledge to share, give it away freely. There is no feeling quite as uplifting as giving.
-
Reduce Consumption. Reflect on the origins of the products you consume every day. Is it right to strip the Earth of its usable oil and minerals in only a few generations? How ethical is the exploitation of workers, laboring in deplorable conditions, who are barely surviving so they can make us the garments we wear or the gadgets we cling to? How can planned obsolescence, deliberately making inferior products that need to be rapidly replaced, be not only tolerated but actually widely practiced and condoned in the world of business? Why are we being blinded by the illusion of infinite growth? We live on a finite planet, with real limitations, many of which are being tested as we speak. We must move away from the commercial economy that seeks to sell us an endless supply of “products”. Learn to re-use. Make do with less than our current voracious culture insists we must have. Don’t shop at places or support businesses or industries that practice unethical treatment of people or environments. Vote by sometimes keeping your pocketbook closed.

Explore Permaculture. This burgeoning field is a design science that seeks to work with elements of the environment to inherently support and maintain biological systems. Although it is newly-defined, its systems are often based on ancient and traditional knowledge. Primarily applied to the growing of food “Permanent agriculture”; permaculture has also branched out to include off-grid living solutions and sustainable technologies, techniques such as rainwater harvesting and water management including flood mitigation techniques and natural irrigation, and also presents innovative means of reclaiming damaged environments; including turning deserts into forests, cleaning up toxic chemical spills, and encouraging the restoration of balance in fragile ecosystems. Permaculture should be considered as a serious basis upon which to establish regional food security. The social dynamics of the movement, the “permanent culture” aspects, re-awaken the shared sense of community that has been forgotten by too many. Many of the solutions we speak of in the Grassroots Evolution are being practiced by (and coming about because of the work of) permaculturalists already active in your local region.
-
Honour Indigenous and First Nations Peoples. Ethnic groups are experiencing cultural genocide even to this day, all over the world. Practices of exclusion, exploitation, and intolerance must end now, being replaced with compassion, respect, and acceptance. The original inhabitants of the land are a sacred part of the spirit of the Earth, and are jewels of human culture. We must respect their rights to retain their sacred lands and guarantee their dignity to determine what happens upon them. Choose to uplift these cultures in thought and in action so that they may regain what has been lost and move forward with a renewed sense of resolve to keep their sacred cultures alive. We have much to learn from the ways of those who were here before us. Let us honour Indigenous peoples and their sacred status upon this Earth; including them in our Councils and decision-making processes, and asking them for forgiveness for the injustices that have been carried out against their people and traditional ways of life. Advocate for designated seats for Indigenous voices in our houses of parliament.
-
Speak out for Justice. Share the information you learn far and wide, spread the solutions throughout social media and the internet. Fill your Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram feeds with memes that bring attention to the important issues, and share those that offer hope, solutions, and a positive way forward. If you do not put your voice out into the wavelengths around us, someone else's voice will fill the space. It is not rude to talk about religion and politics; it is actually extremely important that regular people do! Let’s talk together about these topics more! In doing so, we will see that we all believe in many of the same fundamental truths. Don’t allow the media to divide you against your neighbor, instead, learn to speak to each other, listen to different points of view with respect and the intent to understand. Speak your truth clearly and loudly. The world is listening.
-
Join the Grassroots Evolution. Change in the system is going to come as a result of the mobilization of the broadest level of public participants. Encourage everyone you know to check out the issues, the solutions, and the solution makers. Understand that the Grassroots Evolution is a movement toward a truer form of democracy, and a push to end the grievous injustices in this world. This is the Revolution we’ve been waiting for.
Ally your organization with Grassroots (and each other). Unite. We need all kinds of progressive organizations to unite to show that we agree on these fundamental issues and are committed to working together to make a better world. Be featured (for free) on our website as one of those making the solutions come to life.
-
Organize the Revolution in Your Area. Every region needs people committed to making real Grassroots change a reality. Participate in Grassroots Gatherings where we share skills and discuss solutions with neighbours over a cup of tea. Join marches or picket lines, talk to your friends and neighbours, and come up with actions you can work on and take on together. Add your ideas to the conversation. Engage in creating a body of work that outlines a society advanced in culture, economy, and environment. Help envision and enact a future with less suffering and struggle for the many, with peace and prosperity for all.

Become your best self. We all have an important purpose on this Earth, and now is the time to gather your courage and become who you were born to be. Let go of habits that hold you back, create new habits that serve to improve your well-being. Practice meditation or engaging in self-reflection will bring light to the areas which need our attention, and allow us to let go of what no longer serves our growth and development. Forgive yourself and others for past actions and chart a course forward with a renewed sense of connection to our fellow beings and appreciation for the miracle that is our Earthly home. Remember, nobody's perfect—we're all learning and growing together. Treat others as you wish to be treated, and let your actions reflect the love and respect you hold for humanity.
